Thanksgiving Greetings 2016

We feel truly blessed to be serving at this time in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the peoples of El Salvador and Belize. The picture below was taken overlooking the ocean outside of the city of Puerto, in El Salvador. We had just attended a baptism at that small branch. Please know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers.

On this special day as you take that next bite of turkey, think of all the times past the Dad would bake the turkey with his apron on, and then proudly display it before feasting upon the bird.

Mission Presidents Seminar

President and Sister Adams were able to travel to Guatemala for a week in August to attend a mission president seminar.  This seminar is held annually for all the mission presidents in the surrounding missions.  As the member of the Quorum of the twelve Apostles over this area, Elder Cook was in attendance with his wife as well as Elder Christenson of the Seventy and his wife.  It was a bit of a "breather" and rejuvenation for these Presidents and wives who have been working tirelessly for the last couple of months.

Resort outside of Antigua

Email from President Adams on 8/18/16
We are at this resort out side of Antigua, which is surrounded by 4 volcanoes, one is active. This was formerly a large coffee plantation. There is an 18 hole, Pete Dye course, which, yes, I actually got to play on Tuesday, and Mom came along for the ride. We happened to be here when the volcano erupted.

Hurricane Earl

To whom it may concern:

We wish to inform you that all missionaries in Belize are safe. Hurricane Earl came through Belize last night, but all missionaries were evacuated from all areas of danger and stayed in areas of safety. No one was harmed in any way. Please let your local leaders know that the missionaries are safe.

If you have any concerns or questions, you may contact President Adams:

Much Missed Suitcases!

After a whole month of waiting, and $400 later in customs duties, we finally got our two lonely suitcases that we had to leave at the Salt Lake City international Airport. Hallelujah!

Dinner for our 40th at La Pampa, El Vulcan

An Argentine restaurant on the side of the San Salvador volcano in the country of El Salvador... Go figure! That is Lake Ilopango with another volcano in the haze, it's the Cinotepeque volcano. There are 22 in El Salvador!

Our 40th Anniversary and first official P Day

From Jardin de Linda Vista:

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch perched on the side of a volcano, overlooking the city of San Salvador...stunning! You are literally sitting in a terraced garden with Tables randomly placed throughout! Lovely!

Belize Zone Conferece

With 58 of our 190 missionaries in Belize City. No A/C, just fans in 80+ degrees and 60% + humidity...thus the short sleeves! An awesome of dedicated missionaries. We have church branches on the island of San Pedro and also in the small Guatemalan city of Melchor, which we visited. Hot!

A week in Belize

Soon after arriving in El Salvador, it was already time for a trip to Belize for missionary interviews and a zone conference. President and Sister Adams enjoyed meeting the missionaries that are serving in that area currently.
